From 15 February to 1st June 2014
Using the generic title The Workshop of the Artist, the CCC wishes to create a new way of encountering the work of today and the artists themselves. Visitors are invited to accompany an artist in the creative process by taking a role in the piece. This moment of exchange and sharing finds expression in the widest range of media, using the freest possible forms of current art.
Following on from Michel François, Dan Perjovschi and A K Dolven, it’s Guy Limone turn to set up his studio at the CCC. At the same time as his exhibition 1/87th, the artist is setting up a photographic studio inviting visitors to take part in his Collection of Images. Facing the camera, each person poses and sees his image reduced to the same scale as the artist’s tiny figures. The entire batch of photographs is handed over to Guy Limone who is able to make use of them as subject matter for a new piece.
The young visitors to the exhibition (6-16 years old), are invited to appropriate the work of Guy Limone for themselves. After they pose in the photo studio, the participants work together on a joint piece using as the subject matter the photographs from the photo studio. Based on what they produce, they share their viewpoint on the artist’s work and exhibition.
