19 March 2011 6.30pm – at the CCC
To mark the final days of her exhibition entitled “One More Piece” by Tania Mouraud, the artist is producing a sound performance.
Sound occupies an important place in the sculpture work of Tania Mouraud, from her sensory environments of the 1970s which the exhibition is largely devoted to, through to her current video work. However in parallel the artist works at the same time in the area of experimental music, and regularly gives sound performances, either alone or with her group, “Unité de Production”.
For many years Tania Mouraud enjoyed contemporary music, but with the advent of IT this really took off at the start of the 2000s.
She records many sounds, both natural and urban, particularly during her frequent journeys to India. The source of her approach to sound is the blending of the two worlds of real and created electronic sounds.
This happening is organised as part of the national event called Week-end Musées Télérama – Saturday 19 Sunday 20 March
