Within the framework of his exhibition opening at the CCC, Michel Verjux is in discussion with art historian Pascal Rousseau.
Pascal Rousseau is a professor of the history of contemporary art at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and is a specialist in the historical avant-garde and ths beginnings of abstraction, the relationships between the imagination, beliefs and technology in contemporary culture (19th to 21st century). As well as several works and many articles, notably he was the exhibition curator for the exhibition “Robert Delaunay” (Centre Pompidou, 1999) and “The origins of abstraction. 1800-1914″ (Musée d’Orsay, 2003) or more recently “Fabrice Hyber. Pasteur’Spririt” (Institut Pasteur, 2010).
